Take your self-tie practice vertical with a focused exploration of hashira

Join special guest instructor @Bunnydough from Montreal for this selftie class in which vertical post ties (hashira) will be discussed from the unique point of view of self-suspension. Tying yourself to a post is no mean feat, and requires a great deal of technique and planning! That's why an overview of the challenges, tips and tricks, peculiarities of pole attachments and safety aspects to think about will be covered through a series of exercises focusing on predetermined positions.

Prerequisites:

This is not an introduction to selftie class! Participants should have a good understanding of suspension line management and self-tying in general. They should know how to tie a single-column knot on themselves (ankle, waist, thigh, etc.), as well as different harnesses to suspend heavier parts of the body (upper body, lower body, thighs).

Required materials:

• 6-8 pieces of bondage rope

• rope safety equipment

• notetaking equipment

Doors will open 15 minutes before class starts and will close 20 minutes after the start of class.

Bunnydough (she/her) discovered a passion for selftie during the pandemic lockdown. She spent many hours embracing the variety of sensations, intentions, and emotions inherent in this practice. She enjoys navigating the different states of mind that selftie allows her to explore throughout a session. Eager to share her love and knowledge of this discipline, she intuitively transitioned from a solitary practice to sharing her skills with a wider audience by teaching, performing, and helping others discover what she loves about the art of the selftie. Self-tying, being tied, tying: Bunnydough loves everything about rope. She has been teaching selftie for the last 4 years in Montreal, and also in different cities away from her home. She is also tying regularly in the same mean headspace she likes to tie herself: where sadism and care meet each other.
