À propos de l'événement

Playing in Partials

You’ve mastered your foundations, and explored the limits of your play style on the floor, now it’s time to employ those uplines you’ve been practicing! Partial suspension can be a natural extension to your floorplay practice, adding additional restraint, support, strain, and leverage to your scenes. Don’t let the name fool you, being “partial” does not make these ties less exciting or challenging than full suspension.

Partials allow you the unique opportunity to utilize the force of gravity in suspension conjunction with the modifying pressures from the ground to achieve struggle and form that can only be found in this practice.

Whether your interest is in struggle and suffering, or sensuality and support, partial suspension can help you achieve your goals and enhance your practice.

Find out why this is my favourite way to play!

This class will focus on learning a different “suspension worthy” tie for the body each week, and explore the many options for using this tie with uplines to create partial suspensions. There will be time to explore and experiment to discover how these ties best work for you, your partner, and your rope scene goals.

This class requires a tying partner. Tickets are sold per person. We aim to give opportunities to everyone to have access to their community despite financial barriers. Choose the ticket price that suits your preference! All tickets are for the entry to an event and you get no more or less for the price you choose.

Prerequisites:

Introduction to Rope & Rope Foundations, Exploring Uplines or equivalent. Some practice at floor rope through Probe’s Floorplay class or similar is beneficial to following along in the tying instruction.

Rope tops should have knowledge of basic frictions, rope safety, and rope handling. Rope bottoms should be familiar with their bodies' reactions in rope, rope safety, and basic body checks. Both partners should be familiar with communication in rope.

Required Equipment: minimum 6-8 lengths of bondage rope suitable for suspension (jute/reinforced jute, hemp, Hempex, POSH, or bondage nylon) safety tools, note taking tools, whatever aftercare you may require.

This workshop is open to members only. If you don’t have your membership yet, you can sign up online or come by to see the space on one of our social nights and sign up in person. We would love to see you!

Doors will open 15 minutes before class starts.

Kosmick

@Kosmick has been getting tangled in knots most of their adult life, with an interest in the beauty and narrative power of bondage reaching back into childhood stories of damsels in distress. They began studying rope bondage in 2011, and intensified that study in 2016 after joining the Ottawa BDSM community. As an instructor, Kosmick takes an approach of breaking down classic structures and forms, with an emphasis on *why* things are tied the way they are, and an examination of the decision making processes of a tie. They are committed to demystifying rope bondage and empowering learners at all levels to experiment with what they know and pursue avenues to have fun with their rope. They view rope as a tool of expression, and look to inspire others to build connection and intimacy through their tying.

Truly

With over 10 years of experience in rope bondage spaces, @Truly (she/her) is passionate about active bottoming, modular ties, and creating emotive experiences in the classroom. Primarily a rope bottom, she also has experience with tying and self-suspension. Truly’s student-centered teaching style focuses on helping rope bottoms cultivate intuitive body awareness and gain the confidence to define and communicate their specific needs. With a rich history of rope education and performance across Quebec and Ontario, she is always eager to share her love of ropecraft.
