A three-day symposium for discussing kink and BDSM.

Welcome to Ottawa’s BDSMposium 2025! “BDSMposium” is a mash-up of “BDSM” and “symposium” — in other words, a place for people to come together and talk about BDSM and kink. The focus of the event is on sharing experiences, formulating ideas, and refining understandings, and that’s true for attendees as well as organizers, facilitators, and volunteers!

Friday Night Mixer

Friday, February 21, 2025, 6:30pm–11:30pm

Come celebrate the opening of the BDSMposium!

Doors open at 6:30pm for registration and an evening of getting to know fellow attendees, socializing, and taking advantage of Probe’s bar and snacks! Red (@redselfties, any pronouns) will open the symposium with a few words about what to expect, after which there will be open socializing well into the night.

Saturday Workshops

Saturday, February 22, 2025, 11am–5pm

Saturday kicks off at 11am as doors open for registration.

The day’s activities include two rounds of 90-min workshops with a skill-share sandwiched in-between. Snacks will be provided, but attendees can also take advantage of the Byward Market’s many eateries! The day wraps up around 5:00, to give attendees a breather before the party.

Probe’s Anniversary Party

Saturday, February 22, 2025, 8pm–2am

Doors open again at 8:00pm for 1 Year In Orbit: Probe’s Anniversary Party!

Come celebrate one whole year of Probe Ottawa with symposium attendees and Probe members alike. Play at the party will be monitored by Probe’s DMs, and snacks and non-alcoholic drinks will be available. Come chat, play, watch, and celebrate!

Sunday Brunch Social

Sunday, February 23, 2025, 11am–1pm

11am Sunday, head back to Probe for a catered brunch spread!

Catch up with other attendees as you enjoy the gluten-free and vegan options available alongside more conventional fare. Workshop attendees get a 50% discount: you pay $10 for brunch if you’re attending workshops on Saturday or Sunday!

Sunday Workshops

Sunday, February 23, 2025, 1pm–6:30pm

Sunday wraps up the BDSMposium with two rounds of workshops, starting at 1pm and ending around 4:00.

Stick around afterward for our closing words, and to chill, decompress, and chat for a few more hours, or go take advantage of the Byward Market with friends!

Admission Types

For those who’d like the full experience, a BDSMposium Full Attendance ticket grants you access to all of these events (plus $10 extra for brunch). For anyone who can make it to some events, but not all, there are also individual event tickets available, including a bundle for Saturday!

Tickets are on a sliding scale, except for the Sunday brunch. Choose the ticket price that suits your preference! All tickets, full or partial, are for entry to the event, and you get no more or less for the price you choose. Temporary Probe membership is included in the price of the Full Attendance ticket.

Workshops

BDSMposium workshops are group discussions led by members of the local scene, about topics they’ve proposed and developed. We’re looking to dive into the ideas and explore!

In order to foster a welcoming space for everyone, all workshop attendees need to agree to Probe Ottawa’s Code of Conduct and House Rules, as well as the BDSMposium Attendee Agreement. 

Skill-Shares

Have you got a rock-solid trick for handling a paddle? Have you always wanted to know how people spend extra rope so fast? The BDSMposium skill-shares are for you! Come together with other attendees, facilitators, and volunteers to exchange knowledge and share techniques in a discussion-and-demonstration circle between workshops.

About the BDSMposium

The core of Ottawa’s BDSMposium 2025 is the Saturday & Sunday Workshops, where the structured group discussions will take place. There’s more to the event, though: the Friday Night Mixer offers a relaxed space for people a space to get to know each other, and the Sunday Brunch Social is a chance to eat your fill, wake up a little, and continue the discussions you started on Saturday.

The centrepiece of BDSMposium will be a play party Saturday night — and not just any play party, either! The weekend of February 21–23 marks one year since Probe Ottawa opened their doors. On Saturday, February 22, we’ll celebrate 1 Year In Orbit: Probe’s Anniversary Party!
