@redselfties (any pronouns) offers a taste of what self tie can offer you in this introductory class. Explore what draws you to self tie, practice evaluating the risk you’re facing, and learn to connect with your mind and body in this unique style of rope bondage.

We’ll first explore what self tie offers as a distinct form of rope bondage, and discuss the opportunities we open up by handling rope on our own bodies. We’ll also talk about the risks unique to self tying, and how to have fun in a risk-aware way.

In the second half of the class, we’ll connect with ourselves through practical exercises designed to help us hear the feedback our bodies give us. Then, we’ll pick up some rope, and explore the connections it can build between mind and body.

This class is part of Probe’s Self Tie Basics Series: first dates between your body and your ropes. The focus of this class is soft skills, especially intention and feeling, body awareness, and risk evaluation. The class is accessible to anyone who’s taken Intro to Rope, or an equivalent. We recommend these rope classes for developing your hard skills and/or your soft skills in self tie.

Self tying is the focus of this class, so partnered tying won’t be allowed.

Prerequisites: Intro to Rope or equivalent

Tickets are sold per person. Tickets are available on a sliding scale to promote inclusivity and accessibility. Please choose the ticket price that makes this event accessible to you. All ticket types provide the same access to the event.

Required equipment: 2 pieces of rope (available from Probe if you do not have your own).

Wear whatever makes you feel comfortable and at ease. We recommend opting for clothing that allows freedom of movement and flexibility. Additionally, bring along any specific equipment you may require for your personal comfort during the class.

This class does not require a membership. Doors will open 15 minutes before the start of class.

Red or @redselfties (any pronouns) has been, well, self-tying since she picked up a rope. Self-tie is a core part of his rope practice, from performances to self-scenes to using his body as a centerpiece for his art projects. Red loves sharing her passion for self-tie through instruction, skill-sharing, and mentoring, and she’s thrilled to be able to continue to do so at Probe.
