Intro to Fireplay

Come dive into Fire Play with @MrBald on June 5th from 6:30pm to 9:30pm. This course will include discussions on safety, equipment, setup/concerns as well as crafting your own firewand (materials to be provided as part of the course).  

@MrBald has been an active fire-player in the Ottawa community for more than a decade and will introduce you to playing with fire in a safety conscious way. 

This workshop will provide you with the foundational knowledge and techniques to preform fireplay in a safety conscious manner.  No prior knowledge or experience in fireplay is required to participate, however you cannot be afraid of fire. This class is intended for pairs. This is a hands on course and will require you to practice on your partner. There will be opportunity to switch with your partner if you both would like to experience topping for fireplay.

A ticket is for 2 people. We aim to give opportunities to everyone to have access to their community despite financial barriers and we recognize not everyone has the means to purchase a full price ticket for all events. Choose the ticket price that suits your preference! All tickets are for the entry to an event and you get no more or less for the price you choose.

Participants will need to wear clothing that are fire resistant such as cotton, as some synthetic fabrics can ignite or melt easily. Participants will need to remove (some) clothing when receiving fireplay and cannot have excessive body hair as it will burn.  Those receiving will choose where the fire can be placed so total nudity/hair removal is not required. For safety concerns, participants will need to have showered before attending and not use creams/oils/ gel/mousse/hairspray after showering.
