Exploring Uplines II
Refining how we hang things in the air
Let your ideas take flight!
This class will expand your understanding of uplines, the supportive ropes used to lift a bound body into the air. Picking up where we left off in Exploring Uplines I, this class will review upline tying and handling techniques for single point suspension from carabiners, before graduating into multi-point suspension considerations and bamboo suspension.
We will be experimenting on chairs, backpacks, and weights to test out technique. This is an unpartnered, technical skills class and will serve as a prerequisite for upcoming partial and full suspension classes at Probe.
Prerequisites: Exploring Uplines I or a basic understanding of single point uplines for suspension.
Required materials: minimum 3 ropes, 3 carabiners, a notebook

Kosmick
@Kosmick has been getting tangled in knots most of their adult life, with an interest in the beauty and narrative power of bondage reaching back into childhood stories of damsels in distress. They began studying rope bondage in 2011, and intensified that study in 2016 after joining the Ottawa BDSM community. As an instructor, Kosmick takes an approach of breaking down classic structures and forms, with an emphasis on *why* things are tied the way they are, and an examination of the decision making processes of a tie. They are committed to demystifying rope bondage and empowering learners at all levels to experiment with what they know and pursue avenues to have fun with their rope. They view rope as a tool of expression, and look to inspire others to build connection and intimacy through their tying.
