Frequently
Asked questions

  • What are your hours of operation?
Probe is only open when we have an event scheduled. Please refer to our events page and rental calendar for times, availability and membership requirements. Events and bookings may be scheduled 7 days a week from 8am-2am. **Please note that our entry door will be locked after 12AM (midnight) for the safety of our members and staff during an event.
  • What methods of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, credit, debit and e-transfer.
  • How do your tickets work?
You'll see different pricing options across our events. We aim to give opportunities to everyone to have access to their community despite financial barriers and we recognize not everyone has the means to purchase a full price ticket for all events. Choose the ticket price that suits your preference! All tickets are for the entry to an event and you get no more or less for the price you choose. Our tickets range from: - Drop in by donation (chip in at the event with our QR code or donation jar if you would like, no pre-purchase needed) - Pay what you can (you set the ticket price with no minimum participation cost) - Sliding scale (no difference between a Starlight or Nebula ticket) - Fixed Price (typically when there is a set cost to an event, like our Brunch) We recommend purchasing a ticket online to secure your spot. However, if an event is not sold out we will always offer tickets at the door! We can take cash, credit and debit at the door as well. If you know without a doubt that you would like to attend an event, but cannot purchase online, send us a message and we may be able to hold a spot for you. Please send us a message if you have any questions!
  • How do I enter the space?

  • Is there a vetting process or requirements to attend events?
Probe is a private membership club. Every attendee will need to acquire a membership as a prerequisite for accessing most events held at Probe. This includes our workshops, practices, and parties. To rent Probe you must be a verified member. Our social nights are open to everyone and do not require a membership. Some of our events require you to purchase a ticket. Please see each event listing for clarity on which event requires membership and tickets. You can conveniently purchase memberships either through the Probe website or in person. We can verify your membership (check your ID) at our in-house socials, parties, and practices. We do not verify memberships at our workshops and classes. This process includes reading all of our rules, signing a waiver, filling out an application form, and visually showing staff a piece of government issued photo ID to verify your name and that you are of legal age (18+ in Ontario).
  • I purchased a membership, but I can't see it!
To help protect our members identities and privacy we keep our membership information separate from our website. Creating an account on the Probe website will let you keep track of the events you purchase tickets or RSVP to, but you cannot see your membership status. If you have any questions about your membership email us at probeottaw@gmail.com.
  • Can I purchase a temporary membership?
If you're not sure you're ready to sign on with a full 3 month membership we are offering a $10 membership that will be valid for 24 hours. You must still go through the membership verification process and this can only be purchased at the door of our in-house events. You also have the option to purchase a temporary membership for at Probe if you live a minimum of 100km away from Probe. Temporary memberships cost $15 and are valid for 72 hours from the date of purchase. They may be purchased at the door of our in-house events. • How do I renew my membership?
When your membership expires, you should receive an email with a payment link to process your next 3 months. We do not currently do recurring billing or subscriptions. If you have any questions or did not receive a renewal link, reach out to us by email at probeottawa@gmail.com. You can also purchase your next 3 months in person at an in house Probe event!
