About the event
For rope scenes involving two parties, collaboration is always an essential component in success. This series, taught by @Kosmick and @JustJudy, focuses on developing a shared language for partners in rope that will allow you to shape the kinds of scenes you are dreaming of. At the end of the day, it’s not the rope itself, or the forms it takes, that determines the impact of a rope scene, but rather the intangible energy each partner brings into the scene. This series aims to shed some light on what makes that magic happen, and how you can better work to harness it for yourselves. Expect education aimed at both tops and bottoms, and ample opportunity to explore and play.
This course serves as a soft-skills sequel to the Rope Foundations course.
Prerequisites:
- Introduction to Rope
- Tops: Rope Foundations or equivalent knowledge of rope handling, knots, and frictions.
- Bottoms: familiarity with your body in rope, experience being tied in various positions.
Required Equipment: minimum 4 lengths of bondage rope, safety tools, note taking tools, whatever aftercare you may require.
This class requires a tying partner. Tickets are sold per person. We aim to give opportunities to those with financial barriers. Choose the ticket price that suits your preference! All tickets are for the entry to an event and you get no more or less for the price you choose.
This workshop is open to members only. If you don’t have your membership yet, you can sign up online or come by to see the space on one of our social nights and sign up in person. We would love to see you!
Doors will open 15 minutes before class starts.
@Kosmick has been getting tangled in knots most of their adult life, with an interest in the beauty and narrative power of bondage reaching back into childhood stories of damsels in distress. They began studying rope bondage in 2011, and intensified that study in 2016 after joining the Ottawa BDSM community. As an instructor, Kosmick takes an approach of breaking down classic structures and forms, with an emphasis on *why* things are tied the way they are, and an examination of the decision making processes of a tie. They are committed to demystifying rope bondage and empowering learners at all levels to experiment with what they know and pursue avenues to have fun with their rope. They view rope as a tool of expression, and look to inspire others to build connection and intimacy through their tying.
@JustJudy Passionate about rope since 2019, I have been to numerous classes, workshops and intensives taught by Japanese and western instructers. As a person being tied it is rare that the content of the classes is equally targeted to both partners and I am please to see and be a part of the change brought to Probe by Kosmick. As their co instructor I will aim to teach you about body awareness, communication and playfulness in rope for the most satisfying scenes.
