About the event
We're thrilled to be hosting @NightwolfAJ at Probe for a weekend of intense rope learning. Starting the festivities on Friday night, come see @NightwolfAJ and Probe's own @Toughcookie perform their dynamic and acrobatic rope style! Get a taste of what he's all about and stick around for an open rope jam to close out the evening. Those attending either day of the workshop are admitted for free on the Friday night for the performance and jam.
A little bit about AJ: Based in Toronto, AJ has been tying and teaching rope in Kazami Style for about 10 years. In 2017 he was honored to be appointed Deshi to Kazami Ranki and in 2018 was given the rank of master instructor (shihan) of Kazami Ryu. With a PhD in Medical Physics, and over 20 years of training in fitness competitions, AJ has advanced knowledge in distribution of forces on the body and dynamics of moving the human body with maximum safety and fluidity. AJ enjoys designing sustainable harnesses and Dynamic exhilarating transitions. He is a captivating rope artist and an engaging and skilled teacher helping people to elevate their rope skills with focused care.
Bottoming for the weekend is @Toughcookie who has been active in the kink community since 2014, and in rope since 2016, having been involved in presenting a variety of events and workshops in Ottawa over the years. A rope switch, she is attracted to the artistic aspect of ropes, allowing her to express her passionate nature with beauty and sensuality. Her greatest satisfaction comes from sharing her love for rope bondage through performance and learning. As a knowledgeable and dedicated advocate for bottom empowerment, she welcomes interactive dialogue in and out of ropes for the purpose of continuous learning and growth.
The Saturday: Neko Harness
@Nightwolfaj will be teaching his famous Neko harnesses. AJ has used the valuable fundamentals of kazami style and spent about 8 years on developing and refining the Neko harnesses.
This workshop will cover the very comfortable hands free neko harness which comes with the ability to incorporate a sustainable bunny ears pose, tengu, and hands front in air and mid transition. After reinforcing the fundamentals of the hands free harness, AJ will introduce variations of these poses and ways to execute them. This hands front even has the ability to be suspended from a single point off of the front or back.
In the later portion of the class, he will show his neko strappado. This harness is designed to minimize the nerve and shoulder discomfort often encountered in various arm binders. AJ will then demo possible poses that can be executed using this harness including his famous Neko pose that won the overall Jade Rope competition in 2019.
Aside from their superior sustainability, these harnesses stay intact even after many transitions, allowing the tying pairs to prolong their play with maximum safety. The two harnesses also minimize the rib cage pressure taking advantage of easy to learn engineering on the stem.
The Sunday: Wolf Harness
This workshop will be focused all on hip harnesses. AJ will be teaching his fast hip harness for static poses, and his 3 wolf hip harnesses.
AJ has built these hip harnesses using the fundamentals of kazami style of Japanese rope bondage. The 3 wolf harnesses are designed to maximize the sustainability and safety for the model. Thanks to their unique design, these harnesses exhibit strong structural integrity suitable for multiple transitions and poses. AJ uses these harnesses in dynamic rolls and exhilarating drops with no deformation and therefore minimum unwanted pain during play.
The first harness will be a harness focused on waist pressure, suitable for rope models that enjoy waist rope or waist breath play.
The second harness allows 8 different attachment points and the possibility of distributing the load on the waist, hips, or thighs, or a combination of all.
The third harness allows variations of loads on waist, hips or legs with no pressure point on lower back. With its design it is preferable for bridge poses. The unique advantage of this harness is its ability to load as a single point from the back for face down poses. One can achieve poses such as scorpion using only this hip harness.
The Details:
One ticket is for a tying pair, these are partnered classes. If you are interested in both days, you can bundle both and save. Tickets are limited to 8 tying pairs per day. You do not need to do Day 1 to do Day 2, they are separate workshops. A few spots are open for those wanting to observe the class, but not participate in tying.
A Probe membership is not required for attendance. We will require you to sign a waiver upon arrival.
Both the person tying and the person being tied need to have experience with rope. Rope safety, understanding risks including nerves, is a must, as well as a sufficient practice tying harnesses, like a TK and rope handling. This is not a class for beginners. While all of the harnesses being taught are excellent for floor play, how to use them in suspension will be covered. To practice the suspension portion of the class you must have experience with suspension, and know how to safely tie uplines.
Class starts at 11am and ends at 7pm, doors will open at 10:45am. There will be time for a 1 hour lunch in the middle. The last hour will be for asking questions, refinement, and practice for those who would like more time to work s: with AJ.
