About the event
Structures & Restraint
In this class, we will explore a different physical form, with an exploration-based approach to building harnesses and structures to support that form.
Because every body, tying pair, and scene is unique, harnesses can never be one-size fits all, and they don’t have to be! In this class, you will learn how to build from your Foundations, putting together familiar components into new forms, and building confidence in your ability to problem solve while developing your personal rope play style within a supportive environment focused on safer practices and demystifying rope bondage dogma.
Each class will cover both technical tying/problem solving as well as scene building supported by that tying and scene skills for players on both sides of the slash.
Deepen your rope practice and discover what you can build together while exploring in play!
This class requires a tying partner.
Prerequisites:
Introduction to Rope & Rope Foundations or equivalent.
Rope tops should have knowledge of basic frictions, rope safety, and rope handling.
Rope bottoms should be familiar with their bodies' reactions in rope, rope safety, and basic body checks.
Both partners should be familiar with communication in rope - this skill will also be practiced in class.
Required Equipment
minimum 4 lengths of bondage rope
Safety equipment (including safety shears)
A way to take notes is recommended and anything you may require for aftercare

@Kosmick has been getting tangled in knots most of their adult life, with an interest in the beauty and narrative power of bondage reaching back into childhood stories of damsels in distress. They began studying rope bondage in 2011, and intensified that study in 2016 after joining the Ottawa BDSM community. As an instructor, Kosmick takes an approach of breaking down classic structures and forms, with an emphasis on *why* things are tied the way they are, and an examination of the decision making processes of a tie. They are committed to demystifying rope bondage and empowering learners at all levels to experiment with what they know and pursue avenues to have fun with their rope. They view rope as a tool of expression, and look to inspire others to build connection and intimacy through their tying.
