Soft & Low Poetry & Open "No" Mic Night

Welcome to the Soft and Low Social Night! Embracing the spirit of the eponymous play party, Probe and the Soft and Low Crew are bringing you this event on the last Monday of every month. Get ready to mingle and giggle your way through a chill evening.

Join us on June 30th for a Poetry Edition/Open “No” Mic Night of this social night. There will be no microphones or amplifiers. Folks are invited to share:

• Poems

• Songs (either a capella or played softly on acoustic instruments)

• Short story readings

• Spoken Word

• Storytelling

• Short stories

• Humor/Comedy

Bring a poem (or something else) that inspires you that you would like to share (if you are not the author, please give appropriate credits). No participation is required, we ask that people use ASL in lieu of clapping (waving your hands in the air) for silent applause.

Why Soft and Low? Social Nights can be so much fun! And a great way to get to know the community! However, between lighting, the noise and loud talking and the wafts of perfume they can be completely overwhelming. For some people, they can even be unmanageable.

Soft and Low events aim to be inclusive and more manageable for those who require a less overstimulating environment. Picture a night out with soft dimmed lighting, with a quieter atmosphere and a no scent policy. We strive to create an atmosphere that is pleasant and promotes creating bonds in a peaceful atmosphere.

Attendees will undergo a scent assessment (sniff test) from our greeter and those who do not meet our no scent requirements will be kindly offered the opportunity to return at another time, thus ensuring a scent-free environment for the comfort of all. We kindly request that attendees refrain from using scented products such as perfumes, colognes, scented lotions, and fragranced body and hair products (shampoos, conditioners, deodorants, hairsprays etc.) the day of the event or during the upcoming event. This measure ensures a comfortable environment for all participants with sensitivities or allergies.

This is a drop in event. Membership is not required. Light snacks and non alcoholic beverages are always provided. Feel free to contribute to our intergalactic cause with a donation - your support fuels our mission to explore and connect the community together.

At this event, play is not permitted. Our social nights and non-membered events are for connection, conversation, and community. We ask all attendees to respect the space and keep interactions within the boundaries of a social setting.
