A journey in connection and emotional expression through the art of rope

Rope is more than just knots and patterns—it’s a language, an extension of touch, a tool for connection. Rope Flow is designed to follow Intro to Rope, shifting the focus from technical execution, as covered in the Foundations series, to emotional expression with your rope partner.

Instead of getting lost in the mechanics, we’ll guide you through exercises that help you communicate intention, sensation, and presence through rope. Whether it's playfulness, tenderness, or intensity, this class will help you explore how to weave emotion into your ties and deepen your partnership.

For rope bottoms, this is an opportunity to engage more actively in the experience, shaping the dialogue and flow of the tie. For tops, it’s a chance to develop fluidity, awareness, and a stronger connection with your partner. Flow takes time to cultivate, but once you find it, your rope journey will transform.

This class is designed to be accessible to those starting out on their rope journey while offering depth for those looking to refine their connection. Flow takes time to develop, but with practice, it becomes an intuitive and transformative part of your rope experience.

Prerequisite: Intro to Rope or equivalent

What to bring:

• 2-4 pieces of bondage rope (house rope available to borrow for class)

• Safety equipment (including safety shears)

Wear whatever makes you feel comfortable and at ease. We recommend opting for clothing that allows freedom of movement and flexibility. Additionally, bring along any specific equipment you may require for your personal comfort during the class.

Please note doors will open 15 minutes before the start of class and doors will close 20 minutes after the start of class.

Tickets are sold per person. Tickets are available on a sliding scale to promote inclusivity and accessibility. Please choose the ticket price that makes this event accessible to you. All ticket types provide the same access to the event.

Kosmick

@Kosmick (they/them) has been getting tangled in knots most of their adult life, with an interest in the beauty and narrative power of bondage reaching back into childhood stories of damsels in distress. They began studying rope bondage in 2011, and intensified that study in 2016 after joining the Ottawa BDSM community. As an instructor, Kosmick takes an approach of breaking down classic structures and forms, with an emphasis on *why* things are tied the way they are, and an examination of the decision making processes of a tie. They are committed to demystifying rope bondage and empowering learners at all levels to experiment with what they know and pursue avenues to have fun with their rope. They view rope as a tool of expression, and look to inspire others to build connection and intimacy through their tying.

Truly

With over 10 years of experience in rope bondage spaces, @Truly (she/her) is passionate about active bottoming, modular ties, and creating emotive experiences in the classroom. Primarily a rope bottom, she also has experience with tying and self-suspension. Truly’s student-centered teaching style focuses on helping rope bottoms cultivate intuitive body awareness and gain the confidence to define and communicate their specific needs. With a rich history of rope education and performance across Quebec and Ontario, she is always eager to share her love of ropecraft.
