Impact Intensive

In this partnered Impact Intensive, taught by @LadyFreyAnna and @redselfties, you’ll be taken on a tour of the myriad of safety concerns we must address as well as the skills and qualities to cultivate in yourself in order to indulge in safer consensual impact play. This Intensive is the foundation and is at the beginning of the Impact Learning Path.

BDSM impact play, you’ve seen it, and it looks really straight forward. One person just hits someone and that’s all there’s to it, right? Then you tried it, and nothing really went as you’d thought it would go and one or both of you went nope, nope, noppity nope!! Or maybe it’s the opposite, you do impact play and you like it but you’d like to expand your range of play, learn more on risk mitigation, what to do if something goes sideways and how you can create scene atmospheres that take your play to another level.

This Impact Intensive focuses on how to approach Impact play in general, how to enjoy it as safely as possible with applying ongoing, active consent for everyone involved. We will cover topics such as what differentiates BDSM from abuse, what risks both parties take in impact play, the mechanics involved and the types of scene skills you need to cultivate in order to build a wide range of different headspaces you’ll both enjoy.

After a quick break, we’ll go into the hands-on portion where you both will be coached on how to creatively use your hands, the types of strikes you can create with a flogger, a cane, a paddle, and how to adapt your play to the specifics of the person you’re playing with. We will also coach you on how to apply scene skills in play so you can create atmospheres that enhance the actions you both do in impact play.

By the end of this Intensive, you’ll know how to handle most toys, how to get into and out of scene headspace safely and how to create various shared headspace you’ll both wish to visit again and again.

This class requires a partner. During the hands on portion, switching between giving/receiving will be available. Tickets are sold per person. We aim to give opportunities to everyone to have access to their community despite financial barriers. Choose the ticket price that suits your preference! All tickets are for the entry to an event and you get no more or less for the price you choose.

It’s recommended you bring at least one flogger, one cane or crop and one paddle. If you don’t have one or more of these, you may be able to borrow one during class.

Prerequisites: This is an introductory class, no prior knowledge or experience is required to participate. The equivalency to this course is both 101 Impact Classes.

This workshop is open to members only. If you don’t have your membership yet, you can sign up online or come by to see the space and sign up in person.

Doors will open 15 minutes before class starts.

@LadyFreyAnna (she/her) is a lifestyle dominant who’s been an active member of the Ottawa community since 2014. She’s known for her dynamic and creative impact play style, Florentine flogging and her extensive impact toy collection. She’s been a regular feature at several explos since 2018, running impact stations that introduce people to receiving or giving impact under her guidance. In her hands, just about anything has the potential to be an impact toy.
