About the event

Everything you ever wanted to know about uplines taught by resident rope instructor @Kosmick! This class will cover the science of uplines, from equipment and safety considerations, to practical hangers and locks, rope handling and physics, to smooth lifts and lowers. Expect practical demonstrations, hands-on learning, and collaborative exploration, all without putting any rope on bodies. This is a technical skills class and will serve as a prerequisite for upcoming partial and full suspension classes at Probe.

Prerequisites: competence in rope handling, tension, single column ties & frictions.

Bring your rope, a notebook, and a water bottle to use as a weight.

This workshop is open to members only. If you don’t have your membership yet, you can sign up online or come by to see the space on one of our social nights and sign up in person. We would love to see you!

Tickets are sold per person. We aim to give opportunities to everyone to have access to their community despite financial barriers. Choose the ticket price that suits your preference! All tickets are for the entry to an event and you get no more or less for the price you choose.

Doors will open 15 minutes before class starts.

@Kosmick has been getting tangled in knots most of their adult life, with an interest in the beauty and narrative power of bondage reaching back into childhood stories of damsels in distress. They began studying rope bondage in 2011, and intensified that study in 2016 after joining the Ottawa BDSM community. As an instructor, Kosmick takes an approach of breaking down classic structures and forms, with an emphasis on *why* things are tied the way they are, and an examination of the decision making processes of a tie. They are committed to demystifying rope bondage and empowering learners at all levels to experiment with what they know and pursue avenues to have fun with their rope. They view rope as a tool of expression, and look to inspire others to build connection and intimacy through their tying.
