About the event
Art Therapy: Love Without Rules
Craft your own constellations of love
Love Without Rules challenges the idea that intimacy must follow prescribed cultural, heteronormative, or hierarchical scripts. Instead, it invites participants to explore love as something fluid, diverse, and self-defined.
This workshop honors the ways queer, kink, polyamorous, and ace/aro communities often create new languages of love outside of rigid binaries—romantic vs. platonic, sexual vs. non-sexual, partner vs. friend. This is a chance to explore what love means to you when it isn’t defined by family, religion, media, or social expectations and a celebration of love in its many forms: sensual, platonic, queerplatonic, spiritual, kinky, playful, communal, or self-directed. In a safe, supportive, and affirming environment, participants are guided to reflect on how love shows up in their lives, and to reimagine it on their own terms.
Participants will create fiber-based artworks using wooden hoops, fabric, ribbon, and wire. Each material becomes a symbol of love or connection—woven, tied, layered, or left to flow freely. The process invites exploration of how different loves intertwine, overlap, or stand apart. The result is a vibrant, tactile “constellation” of love that can be hung or held as a personal reminder of freedom, agency, and authenticity in connection.
No art experience is required—just curiosity and openness! This workshop offers a supportive, non-judgmental space for self-discovery, connection, and empowerment. Come as you are, and create alongside others.
All materials provided. Confidentiality, consent, and personal autonomy are deeply respected in this space.
Doors will open 15 minutes before the workshop starts. Tickets are pay what you can with a minimum of $15. No Probe membership required.
